Youth & Community Centre

IMAGINE WESTERN SYDNEY BRINGING HOPE TO THE WORLD

A building with activities does not make a community centre. It takes the intentional development of Social Capital for an authentic sense of community to grow. There is of course a great need for Physical capital in our communities, things like schools, libraries, swimming pools and more but, according social scientists like Robert Putnam the buildings are only one kind of resource needed for a sense of community to thrive.

As well as physical, Putnam and others identify a range of “Capital” like, Social, Financial, Physical and even Spiritual Capital are all needed for communities to grow in a healthy way. Research indicates that the things like proerty values, health, graffiti and more all improve particularly as Social Capital grows.

At Fusion we work hard to develop all forms of “Capital” in order to allow a genuine, healthy and prosperous community to develop.

Our Youth & Community Centres are situated in St Marys and also Cranebrook. We plan to establish more in time in areas like Parramatta, Campbelltown and Blacktown.
